Good morning from Castaway Cay!
First, sorry for not posting a blog entry yesterday night. We were both very tired and had an early night on Wednesday (getting to bed around 11:00 PM) and sleeping in until 10:30 AM on Thursday.
Yesterday was a VERY busy day. After waking we headed down to Parrot Cay for a Fool lunch which had originally been planned for Lumiere's but had to be changed as they were only serving brunch until 12:00. Parrot Cay was serving a seafood buffett and many of the Fools showed up including us, Robin, Bob, Mel, Chuck, Donna, Nancy, Jazz, Denise, Heather, Erica, Benita, Gina, Mark, and a slew of the kids. The buffett was great and it does seem that Disney is making some additons/changes to some of the various buffett selections around the ship. A good change, I think.
After lunch the we attended the Fools Tequila Tasting in Diversions. Robin, Nancy, Mark, Lynn, Pete, John, Travis and I all had a great time and quickly learned that Lynn has a dir-hard affection for Nacho Cheese Doritos as she drinks tequila, smokes Newports, and munches on a snicker bar. Mel's bra also turned up on one of the Diversions game tables as Mark and Pete had a Drunken Fool Table Hockey Tournament.
After the tasting we all stumbled into the Atrium for the picture that Chuck had organized. It looked as if we were about equal numbers ThreeCircles.net members and *** members. Haven't yet seen the picture in Shutters! Afterwards a group of the Brotherhood headed off to Beer Tasting and a smaller group ventured upstaris to the Cove Cafe for a little quiet time and a few drinks.
Nancy, Travis and I were also afforded the wonderful opportunity of dinning with Captain Tom at Palo's last night. The meal was wonderful and Captain Tom is quite the conversationalist. We found out that he loves Mission: Space and Expedition Everest at Disney but by far his favorite is Soarin'. (He seems to be a bit of a thrill seeker as he also loves Rockin' Roller Coaster!) ![]()
He did talk a lot about possible expansion of the fleet and feels that it will probably happen soon with Iger onboard. As do I, he feels that Disney will add ships two at a time rather than one at a time, for financial reasons. He also feels that the ships will be larger than the current Magic and Wonder. The meal laster for a bit over two hours but never felt strained at all. Thanks to all who had a hand in helping to organize this! ![]()
After dinner we headed back to the room to change and then made it down to Rockin' Bar D where we watched Rich Purpura's show. It was pretty much the same act but was fun none the less and he did mention ThreeCircles.net at the start of the show. He asked us if we were some type of strange "dating service" where we all met!
After the 70's show several of us meandered over to Sessions to sit with our new Honorary Fool from the previous night. He was certainly there in all of his glory but Sandra had to talk to his wife about his previous night's performance and thus ruined the evening. As his wife found out, not looking too pleased, he had to return to the room with her. As it turns out, she's an exec with ABC's Diversity unit.
Not sure if we'll see him again this cruise or not...
Well, we're not sure what we'll be doing today. The weather is beautiful but also very hot and humid. I want to get as little sun as possible so not sure if we'll venture off the ship much today.
We'll be home early tomorrow but we may head back to Disney after picking up the kids and dropping off the luggage. Going back to Disney seems to help with the PDCD (Post Disney Cruise Depression). Plus a lot of the Fools will still be in town so we'll have some fun companions.
Hope you all are doing well and talk soon!
