South Carolina: Done!

Well, what can you do when you mis-predict the outcome of the South Carolina Democratic Primary? Drink Champagne, of course!

Found an outstanding bottle of Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill 1988 for $99.99 and had to buy it. (WAY under priced for such a bottle.)

Congrats to Senator Obama on his win in South Carolina.

He knows wine

Michael Jordan, the General Manager and head Sommelier of Disney's Napa Rose at the Grand California Resort, has made news in the wine world. He's now one of a select few Master Sommelier's.

Michael Jordan has earned the internationally recognized title of
Master Sommelier following the Master Sommelier Diploma Exam which was
hosted by The Dorchester and The Capital Hotel in London, England and held
November 2-3, 2007.

There are 87 professionals who hold the title Master Sommelier in North America. Of those 73 are men and 14 are women. There are 158 professionals worldwide who have earned the title Master Sommelier since the first Master Sommelier Diploma Exam given in London in 1969.

Anyone who attended one of Mr. Jordan's wine tastings during the Panama Canal crossings understands that this man knows his stuff!

A case of Champagne!

It isn't everyday that one stumbles upon an extra-ordinary Champagne sale. Well, as luck would have it, we did indeed stumble upon such a sale this afternoon!

After a great lunch and bottle of wine at The Columbia restaurant in Ybor City we decided to drive up to B-21 Fine Wine & Spirits. There we found a "Buy One, Get One" sale on Henri Abelé Champagne from Reims and decided to buy a case. We even have enough room for it in the Champagne cooler.

Cruise Shopping and The Great Champagne Contest

So, Travis and I decided to head to the mall to begin our pre-cruise shopping adventures this afternoon. We headed over to Countryside Mall, er, I mean, Countryside Shoppingtown, as all the properties owned by Westfield are now called.

At any rate, we actually were looking specifically for a carrying case for stemware for our cruise. I know, I know...

We hit Dilliard's and Travis' alma matter, J.C. Penney, but found nothing at all. No stemware holders, no clothes, nada! Wasn't meant to be today, I guess.

So, now onto more important things, like, of course, Champagne! I'm proud to introduce The Great Champagne Contest to my blog!!! What, on earth, is "The Great Champagne Contest" you ask? Well, we've decided to hold a contest to see which Fool might come the closest to guessing the number of bottles of Champagne Travis and I will have before we embark on SOF:PD! Sounds fun, huh? ;)

Oh, and the contest begins with tonight's bottle as bottle number one. :)
